Left fielder Miguel Cabrera slammed 3 homeruns as the Tombstone Huckleberries beat the Santa Fe Trailer Bitches by a score of 15 to 12. Cabrera enjoyed a great day at the plate. He launched a rocket-shot out of the park for a Grand Slam homerun in the 1st inning, hit a bases-empty home run in the 6th inning and blasted a solo shot (his 11th of the season) in the 7th inning. Tombstone bats were very productive in the 1st inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 5 hits and the 7th inning with 4 runs on 6 hits. Santa Fe made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across. Carlos Silva(5-0) went 6 innings allowing 6 runs for the victory. Russ Ortiz(4-5) was hit with the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 12 hits and 5 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings. Dennis Martin was clearly disappointed after the game. 'It was a manager's nightmare out there', he said, 'We should have had this one.'
